Okay, so I may have really overdone it at the company team building night last night. Somewhere between the 8.1% coffee flavoured beer & the Sailor Jerry I lost count of what I was drinking. There may have been some aggressive Big Buck Hunter played, and I may have called our marketing manager a cock-juggling shitstain.
Now I have a full day of work, and I'm trying to look & feel normal as everyone else appears to have self control.
So far this morning I have had:
Coffee
Bacon & Egg foccacia
A cold shower
Berocca
Asprin
Ibuprofen
Water
and I still feel like something the cat dragged in & threw up.
I have 3 hours until we can go to the pub for lunch. What suggestions can you offer to survive until then?

I know it's basically a placebo, but a Bloody Mary the morning after always straightens me out. If it does anything non-psychological, it would probably be from the tomato, so maybe take some vitamin C?

I always used to drink Gatorade for hangovers and that worked ok. Granted the best thing to do was what we did in the Army and get a medic to hook up an IV LOL.

Mate of mine is a paramedic. He hooked me up at 10am on New Years Day. It was brilliant. Trying to turn it into a business idea.

Sounds like you're up the creek for 3 hours.
Once at the Pub, order the Hallelujah Bloody Mary.
Got this from an old "biker" bar I used to hang at.
Clamato
Triple Sec
Brandy
Vodka
Tequila
Horseradish
Worchestershire sauce
And a hit of Tabasco
If it doesn't put ya right it'll at least have you ready for the next round of "team building".

Had Vit C this morning. Had to drive in, so a Bloody Mary wasn't the best idea. Do love that drink though.

I'm guessing he doesn't do that with his sponsor's Vermouth. That stuff is nasty unless it's part of a Martini.

Have you drank gallons of water? The coffee will not help, it will make it worse. You should be drinking ~ 1 liter of water every half hour or more at the minimum the second you wake up. You should be chugging the stuff.
You need to drink roughly 4x the amount of alcohol you drank last night, in water. So for every martini, you need 4x that amount in water. Something tells me you haven't drank nearly enough water if you're still trying all these other things.
You only really need 3 things to get over a hangover: highly nutritious food, water and asprin, the water cures the hangover, the asprin deals with the immediate pain and helps, and the food replenishes the nutrients you lost. The food also helps get the water into your bloodstream faster.
Don't drink more alcohol for your hangover. That's idiotic. Stay out of the pub today.
The bacon and egg were a bad idea. Fats, in general, reduce the amount of water your body absorbs from food and raise blood pressure, both of which will make a hangover worse. Eggs have lots of nutrition (only if they're fresh) but also raise your cholesterol temporarily, which does not help with the pain.
The shower helps (a warm shower is better than a cold one, since it helps with bloodflow and can carry more water through your system) because you can absorb a lot of water through the skin.
Berocca is just a less effective version of orange juice. Again, plain water would be better. While hangovers can be caused by a loss of nutrients, the extreme loss of water while drinking is what causes it.
Rest helps because it reduces the rate you lose water, so your body has time to absorb the water you drink. Rest does nothing if you haven't been chugging water too.
So basically, in my experience, you've done as much damage as you have done good in trying to get over this hangover.

reminds me of when I worked at Verizon and our store had a Christmas party. Started off at a Mexican place where half of everyone got shlammered of tequila and fireball shots ... Then we ended up at the local boobie barn where a prior coworker was now bartending. Shortly thereafter one of our managers was violently lapdancing a passed out manager. I shattered my work phone somehow that evening but being my then spry 25 year old self showed up to work the next day full of life amidst a sea of zombie co-workers.
*also too avoid future hangovers stay away from sugar, nothing sugary. Take a multi vitamin before bed with a BIG glass of water. Chromium picolonate (found at vitamin shops) helps too. I've had 1 hangover in my life and I'm pretty sure that was actually me dying and not just a hang over. (Ended up in the hospital with a stomach bug followed by kidney failure. My mom had to bring me to the ER as I was in too much pain to drive. She about snapped the nurses arm off when she tried to see the tattoo on my chest). Man this story is still going on. I think that's it.

I'm in college. This stuff is a known science. I had a rommate a few years back who would drink straight 70% grain alcohol throughout the night and avoid a hangover because he balanced it with the right food and amounts of water.

Well, maybe.

Looks like a Long Island Ice Tea. I make a brilliant 3.2 litre version using a cask wine box.
